5 North Street is a mid 19th century Purbeck stone cottage under a stone tiled roof. It is located on a private lane in Langton Matravers, a third of a mile from the centre of the village. The village has two pubs, both of which serve food and a post office/small general store.

Langton Matravers is situated in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck approximately two and a half miles from the seaside resort of Swanage, some eight miles from the market town of Wareham and four miles from Corfe Castle. There is a regular bus service to these towns and the bus stop is a short walk from the property. Swanage has a full range of retail outlets and a large supermarket.
